ANSBACH, Germany (Sept. 8, 2014) -- U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach is scheduled to conduct a full-scale exercise for emergency preparedness throughout the garrison on Oct. 17.
For garrison community members, the exercise means there will be heightened security and some road closures. Changes include:
-- Heightened security at access control points
-- Increase of vehicle searches
-- Possible closure of certain ACPs and certain roads.
Community members traveling between kasernes or within kasernes should plan for extra time to get to their destinations. Community members may see Soldiers in full combat gear patrolling the garrison. In addition to this, community members may be asked to provide identification in order to enter certain buildings or receive services.
The exercise is an annual requirement of the garrison, and, though it might prove temporarily inconvenient, the exercise is done to assess and ensure the safety of the garrison and its community members.
Any updates on the exercise will be made through the USAG Ansbach website or on USAG Ansbach social media. See the links in the "Related Links" section above.
