FORT SHAFTER--The 205th Military Intelligence Battalion, 500th Military Intelligence Brigade, held a Change of Command Ceremony, June 19, at Palm Circle, Fort Shafter.

During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Heidi A. Urben received the battalion colors from Col. William J. Mangan, commander of the 500th MI BDE, and assumed command of the battalion from the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Douglas Edwards.

Mangan welcomed Urben and stressed the importance of her role as the new commander.

"You are charged with ensuring the organization is trained and ready, is a master of intelligence operations, and is viewed as a valued teammate with whomever you are working, whether Army, joint, allied," Mangan said.

After taking command, Urben wished her best for Edwards and addressed the battalion for the first time as the new commander.

"We all join in wishing you, Doug, Godspeed and good luck in your next assignment at the Army War College," Urben said. "To the Soldiers and civilians of the 205th, it is an honor to rejoin your ranks. I look forward to serving with you and carrying on the traditions which you've served so well."
