Camp Darby Community Advisory – Livorno

Heads up! A labor union protest is scheduled in Livorno on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 500 participants are expected. The march route has not yet been announced. Traffic disruptions are possible. If you’re in Livorno, avoid protesters. Use alternate routes and remain aware of your surroundings. Do not engage with demonstrators. The Installation Access Control Office (IACO) will be accessible by a work window inside the North Entrance. North, South, and West doors will be available to access the rest of the building’s offices.

The Camp Darby Casa Toscana Hotel will begin renovations mid-September. Although the construction work will limit room availability for a temporary basis, the end-state will meet safety standards to safeguard families and guests.

What: Two-Phased Hotel Renovation

Where: Bldg 202, Casa Toscana Hotel

When: 14SEP26 to 30MAY27

Why: The primary purpose of the work is to bring the building up to Fire Code Compliance and US/ITA fire prevention standards. Secondarily, work will refresh the facility’s exterior and outside walkway

The renovation work will be conducted in Two Phases:

1. Phase One: Upper Floor will include all 14 rooms, stairwells, and rooms 201/202. Prep work will begin on 13SEP. The exact completion date of this phase, TBD. 
2. Phase Two: Lower Floor to include all six rooms, laundry/supply areas, and Reception Area (our front desk will transition to the southern end of the building in rooms 201/202).
3. During the entire construction operational hours will remain the same. 

Room allocation will be prioritized to operational requirements, ie PCS transition moves. Leisure travel will be space availability. Casa Toscana will provide Statement of Non-Availability (SNA) when occupancy is full.
