FORT LEE, Va. (Sept. 11, 2012) -- Members of the Fort Lee community gathered at Fire Station No. 2 to commemorate the events that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001.
Attendees included senior leaders from the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command as well as those from the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Lee.
During the opening ceremony, a New York City firefighter's helmet was placed on a decorated and candle-lit table that represented a "place of honor" for the first responders who gave their lives while helping the victims of the terrorist attacks.
