COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 1st Space Brigade welcomed a new command sergeant major in an assumption of responsibility ceremony in Colorado Springs on Aug. 11. Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas L. Eagan accepted the sword from Col. Eric P. Henderson, symbolizing that while command sergeants major may come and go, the sword remains razor sharp.

Eagan replaces Command Sgt. Maj. James Ross, who left the command in June. Eagan's previous assignment was as the command sergeant major of the 3-6 Air Defense Artillery Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Brigade in Fort Sill, Okla.
