What goes together better than Thanksgiving and football' Nothing, if you're stationed in Afghanistan.
Soldiers and civilians from Army Sustainment Command's 3-401st Army Field Support Battalion competed against their higher-headquarters comrades of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade in the first Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving Day at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.
After a hard-fought battle, the 3-401st AFSBn triumphed with a 9-touchdown to 6-touchdown victory over the 401st AFSB. Col. Richard B. O'Connor, 401st AFSB commander, presented the game ball to Maj. Frank Campana, 3-401st AFSBn executive officer, following the win.
A second Turkey Bowl is planned for next year, in hope of making this an annual event.
