DAVENPORT, Iowa--Maj. Gen. Yves J. Fontaine, commanding general of the Army Sustainment Command, participated in a ceremony celebrating the signing of the Army Community Covenant with area mayors and Rock Island Arsenal leadership May 7.

The Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of the AUSA hosted a "Military Salute" day at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, as part of activities prior to a minor league game.

The Army Community Covenant symbolizes the symbiotic relationship between the military and community in both the public and private sector. Military-affiliated personnel and families were given free tickets to the game.

Also representing Rock Island Arsenal was Col. Craig Cotter, commander of the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center, and Garrison Manager Joel Himsl.
