FORT JACKSON, S.C. -- Fort Jackson will resume its leadership and training guest speaker program today with a presentation by retired Lt. Gen. James Campbell, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the NCO Club.
Campbell retired from active duty in 2008 after serving in the Army for more than 36 years. He was commissioned through ROTC at the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education.
During his career, Campbell served as a company commander and brigade personnel officer with the 4th Training Brigade on Fort Jackson from 1976 to 1980.
Before his retirement, Campbell served as the director of the Army staff at the Pentagon.
Campbell holds master's degrees from the University of Illinois in physical education and from the United States Naval War College in national security and strategic studies.
He currently serves as the chief of staff for Military Professional Resources Inc., overseeing the company's day-to-day activities.
The quarterly leadership lecture series is geared toward company-level leaders and as well as senior drill sergeants.
The program is open to military and civilian leaders.
