GRAFENWÖHR, Germany — In a span of just 30 days, Staff Sgt. Tyler Goodall rucked more than 80 kilometers across Luxembourg, earned a coveted spot in the Army's most exclusive NCO club in Europe, and led his squad to a second place finish at the V Corps Best Squad Competition, punching their ticket to the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Squad Competition.

Goodall, a fire control specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 41st Field Artillery B

rigade, opened the month at the Sergeant Morales Club board hosted by the 7th Army Training Command. The daylong gauntlet of questioning tests an NCO's knowledge, bearing, and leadership philosophy.

Established in 1973 by Lt. Gen. George S. Blanchard, the Sergeant Morales Club recognizes the top one percent of U.S. Army noncommissioned officers serving in Europe and Africa. Induction is reserved for those who exemplify integrity, professionalism, and a demonstrated commitment to Soldier care.

"Tyler is the kind of NCO every first sergeant wants in formation," said 1st Sgt. Rosales. "He doesn't seek recognition; he earns it through consistent, quiet excellence. His induction into the Sergeant Morales Club reflects years of hard work and a genuine commitment to his Soldiers. He makes this battery better every single day."

Days later, Goodall traded the boardroom for the boot leather, joining hundreds of international service members at the Diekirch International March in Luxembourg. Over two days, he covered more than 80 kilometers under load, completing an event long regarded as a benchmark of physical endurance, mental toughness, and personal discipline across NATO formations.

He closed the month back in formation as the senior ranking Soldier of a squad composed of multiple launch rocket system crewmembers, automated logistical specialists, fire control specialists, and combat medics. Competing against squads from across the corps, the team earned second place, and with it, the honor of representing both V Corps and the 41st Field Artillery Brigade at the USAREUR-AF Best Squad Competition next month.

"Staff Sgt. Goodall set the standard for his squad through every event," said Capt. Piper Wilson. "He led from the front, took care of his Soldiers, and never wavered under pressure. He embodies what we expect of our NCO corps, and I have full confidence he will represent the unit with distinction at the USAREUR-AF level."

For the 41st Field Artillery Brigade, the Army's premier long range precision fires brigade in Europe, Goodall's month is more than a personal milestone. It reflects the brigade's enduring investment in building disciplined, resilient NCOs ready to lead Soldiers and deliver fires anywhere across the European theater.
