Where to run in Poznan: Routes worth checking out
Poznań offers a variety of running venues, from tartan tracks, forest paths, and park alleys to long routes along the Warta River and around Lake Malta. Both beginners and experienced runners can find a space tailored to their needs.
Malta and the Warta River routes
This is one of the most popular running spots in Poznań. The route around Lake Malta is approximately 5.5 kilometers long and allows for a comfortable workout both morning and evening, thanks to partial lighting. An additional advantage is the extensive sports and recreational infrastructure and the opportunity to combine training with relaxation by the water.
The areas east of Lake Malta are also worth mentioning. The areas around Antoninek, Lake Swarzędzkie, and the nearby ponds and forests are popular with those seeking quieter routes away from the city center. The extensive network of trails allows for both shorter recreational workouts and longer runs in natural surroundings.
Paths along the Warta River, such as Wartostrada, are also very popular. Riverside routes allow for longer distances without frequent stops at traffic lights. Runners can plan their training in various directions, connecting the Warta River with parks and green spaces.
Longer workouts can also be done along the Warta River north of Poznań city center. The route towards Owińska allows for running away from busy streets, surrounded by greenery and riverside recreational areas.
Parks and green areas for runners
Parks are among the most popular destinations for runners. The Citadel's expansive grounds, diverse terrain, and numerous paths allow for both leisurely jogs and more challenging uphill workouts.
Sołacki Park is also a popular place for running. Its unique space, paths leading among ponds and historic greenery, and peaceful atmosphere make it particularly well-suited for recreational training.
From Sołacki Park, you can run to Rusałka and Lake Strzeszyńskie. The trails around these bodies of water and through the nearby forests allow you to run in natural surroundings. They're an ideal choice for longer runs.
Those who enjoy running on soft ground also frequently visit the Marceliński Forest and the Dębiński Forest. Both locations offer an extensive network of trails and more peaceful conditions for physical activity.
People living in southern Poznań, especially in Świerczew, can head to Szachty and run along the paths surrounding the local clay pits. Another way to get some exercise is to run up the observation tower.
Tracks and sports infrastructure
Poznań also boasts professional athletics infrastructure. One of the most important facilities is the stadium in Golęcin, which features full-size running tracks used for training and competitions.
Runners also use the treadmills at other sports facilities and school stadiums in various parts of the city, such as in Śródka and Winogrady. These locations allow for speed and interval training, as well as preparation for half-marathons and marathons.
Routes for beginners and advanced
The variety of terrain in Poznań allows you to tailor your route to your skill level and training type. Beginners most often choose the flat paths around Malta, Rusałka, or city parks. More experienced runners enjoy longer routes along the Warta River, forest paths, or stadium tracks.

Once again, Poznań residents will be able to spend summer evenings enjoying good films outdoors. The first screening of the #NaWolnym cinema will take place on June 5th. Subsequent screenings will take place every Friday until the end of August. Admission to all screenings is free.
This year, the first screening will take place earlier than in previous years. Typically, the #NaWolnym Cinema launch coincides with the beginning of the summer holidays. All screenings will continue to take place on Friday evenings. The location remains the same – the Free Courtyard of the City Hall at Plac Kolegiacki 17. Of course, all films will be available to watch without purchasing tickets, completely free of charge.

25 Poznan-area restaurants make 2026 Michelin Guide
As many as 25 restaurants from Poznań and the surrounding area have been recognized in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide 2026. Muga received a star for the fourth consecutive year. Compared to last year, the region has added nine more restaurants to the guide – five in the capital of Greater Poland and four in surrounding towns.
The list of distinguished restaurants was announced on May 27th during a gala in Krakow. Michelin inspectors recognized 20 establishments in Poznań and five outside the city limits. They also visited the capital of Greater Poland once again, demonstrating the growing interest in the region.
The most important distinction – a Michelin star – went to the Muga restaurant for the fourth consecutive year. This is confirmation of the exceptional culinary standards and recognition of the work of chef Artur Skotarczak, considered one of the best chefs in Poland.
Poznań's Bib Gourmand awards, which signify excellent food at a moderate price, remain unchanged. Four establishments received recognition: TU., SPOT., Fromażeria, and Posto. A restaurant from Skórzewo, Farmer & Sons, has joined this group.
A special distinction was also awarded – the Michelin Sommelier Award. It was received by Dawid Kurlus from Maremma. The guide's website explains the reason behind this choice: "Thanks to his gentle, unassuming demeanor, Dawid Kurlus is the kind of sommelier who quickly puts guests at ease. He became interested in wine in the last decade and is now an expert in the field, overseeing a primarily French Italian list. The owners of Maremma import wine and food from Italy, and the wine shop at the restaurant's entrance is impressive. With a wide selection of bottles, Kurlus has the knowledge and care needed to perfectly recommend your dishes."
The Maremma restaurant itself is among the newcomers to the guide. The other newcomers include four restaurants from the capital of Greater Poland: Strona, Yes Butcher, Rytm Natury, and arte. Last year, only Nare Sushi from Skórzew received recognition from the region. This year, in addition to Farmer & Sons from Bib Gourmand (also from Skórzew), TASTE_it from Puszczykowo, Lumière from Przeźmierowo, and Sezony from Trzecze were also recognized.
A guide with history and global reach
The guide has been present in Poland since 1997, with a history dating back to the early 20th century. It was created for motorized tourists, to facilitate their travel and point out places worth visiting—both attractions and good restaurants.
Poznań was included in the Michelin Guide for the first time in 2023. Last year, it was one of five Polish cities included in the review (along with Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, and Wroclaw). This year, reviewers also reviewed places outside the major cities. Currently, a total of 196 restaurants are listed, including four new Michelin-starred restaurants, bringing the total number of such places in Poland to 10.
Stars are the highest distinction awarded by the French culinary guide Michelin. One star indicates a very good restaurant in its category ("Une très bonne table dans sa catégorie").
Bib Gourmand is a distinction awarded since 1997, denoting exceptionally tasty culinary offerings at moderate prices.
However, the inclusion in the guide itself is already a distinction, and the establishments mentioned become destinations for culinary enthusiasts from around the world. The guide's publication at the beginning of the holiday season is a boost for the entire gastronomic market and tourism sector. A presence in the Michelin Guide can attract new guests and build the region's prestige.
Iconic flavors of Poland
The Michelin Guide praised not only restaurants but also specific dishes that are a must-try when visiting Poland. Seven of them were listed, including two related to Poznań and Greater Poland. The first is the White Parzoned Wielkopolska Sausage. The second must-eat dish in Poznań – "to end with something sweet" – could only be the St. Martin's Croissant. Other recommended dishes in Poland include Krakow's obwarzanek, crayfish in the Tricity area, Warsaw's pyzy, and Wrocław's bigos and pierogi.

Series of free concerts underway at Poznan Lake: Opening features 3 days of music
This year, free outdoor concerts will take place from June 4th to August 27th at Lake Rusałka. Fans will have the opportunity to hear and see over 30 artists perform live. For the second year in a row, Enea is the event's strategic sponsor, collaborating with the Pogoda Foundation. The event is considered the largest free outdoor concert series in Poland.
This year's edition will open with a three-day genre marathon (June 4-6): three days, three genres, and nine artists representing indie/alter, hip-hop, and electronic music. In the following weeks, until August 27, two artists will perform on stage every Thursday, Enea reports. This year's lineup includes: Bass Astral, Sw@da x Niczos (winners of the "Polityka" Passport Award, nominated for a Fryderyk Award), Ania Leon (two Fryderyk Award nominations), Kosma Król (two-time winner of the 2026 Popkiller Award), Wiktor Waligóra (winner of a Fryderyk Award), Melancholy Hill (music in an Oscar-nominated film), Metro (Nadzieja Roku according to Teraz Rock), and many other representatives of the new wave of Polish music.
"We're effectively bridging the gap between large festivals with recurring lineups and niche industry showcases. For many Poznań residents, Thursday evenings by the lake have become a summer tradition and a regular meeting point," explains Zofia Blew of the Pogoda Foundation.
The artists will perform on stage at Lake Rusałka every Thursday until the end of the summer holidays. The Thursday concerts feature two artists – one established and one just starting out. Admission is always free.
The first concerts on June 4, 5, and 6 will feature Cinnamon Gum, Onet, and Madame Affair (Thursday from 6:00 PM); stas krotka x Connor, BSK, and Rene (Friday from 6:00 PM); and GIGEE, Bass Astral, and Michal Zietara (Saturday from 7:00 PM). Concerts scheduled for June include barekprzestań and adaś (June 18 from 7:30 PM) and Daliva and Pola Maj (June 25 from 7:30 PM).
Historic aircraft offers passenger flights in Poland
A historic jet is another attraction for Children's Day, planned for June 6th by the Piła Military Museum.
On Sunday, you'll be able to board it. "On June 7th, you'll have the opportunity to fulfill your childhood dream and fly as a passenger on a historic SBLim-2 jet at Piła Airport!" museum representatives inform. "We remind you that this isn't a cheap attraction; maintaining a flight-worthy jet from the 1950s is expensive. The price of a 10-12-minute flight is several thousand złoty . Those interested are asked to contact Mike Bravo from FUBAR Aviation LTD via messenger," they added.
As we've already announced, June 6th will be a huge event in Piła. The main attraction of the event will be the only Lim-5 fighter jet flying in Europe.
'Meskie Granie' music festival returns to Poznan in July
The concerts are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11. This year's Męskie Granie anthem is by Igor Herbut, Vito Bambino, and Zalia. Their song "Nareszcie" is already available on radio and streaming services. The song will also be performed during the Poznań concerts.
On Friday, July 10th, the main stage at the Citadel will feature Yana, Zakopower xx Miuosh, Kacperczyk, Sistars, and the Męskie Granie Prezents project: KULT // PRO8L3M plays Kazik. On the Ż stage, we'll see Kuba and Kuba, Daria from Silesia, and Radio Maria. Hoshii plays /ż/ Peszek, as well as Fisz and Emade.
On Saturday, the main stage will be taken over by: Wiktor Waligóra; Tribute to Stanisław Soyka - Natalia Przybysz feat. Smolik, Anna Maria Jopek, Grażyna Łobaszewska; Igo; Coma and, of course, Męskie Granie Orkiestra 2026. On the same day, the Ż stage will feature: Metro; Warszawskie Combo Taneczne i Księżniczki feat. Kasia Lins, Margaret, Mery Spolsky; Anna Maria Jopek; Lordofon.
Tickets are still available. A two-day pass costs 522 PLN, and a single-day ticket costs 309 PLN.
As a reminder, the Citadel will also host, among others, the free Picnic at Fest (June 20) and the ticketed BitterSweet Festival (August 13-15).
American Weeks celebrate US 250th anniversary with fine dining across Poland
This June, selected restaurants across Poland are inviting guests to discover the flavors of contemporary American cuisine as part of American Weeks, a nationwide culinary initiative celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The project brings together renowned chefs and restaurants to showcase the diversity, quality, and innovation that define modern American gastronomy. Special menus created for the occasion highlight premium ingredients sourced from the United States, including high-quality American beef, wild-caught Alaska salmon harvested from the pristine waters of the North Pacific, and sustainably grown sushi rice from the U.S. West Coast.
An integral part of the initiative is California by Glass, a wine program designed to introduce guests to the rich diversity of California’s wine regions. Participating restaurants have carefully paired Californian wines with their anniversary menus, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the unique character and craftsmanship of one of the world’s most celebrated wine-producing regions.
Among the participating venues is The Time at Młyńska 12 in Poznań, where guests can enjoy the American Weeks experience throughout the entire month of June. As part of the celebrations, the restaurant hosts the California Wines Festival, featuring a curated selection of Californian wines available both by the glass and by the bottle. The lineup includes sparkling Chardonnay, aromatic white wines such as Chardonnay and Viognier, as well as bold red wines including Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, showcasing the diversity and quality of California winemaking.
To complement the wine selection, The Time has created a special menu inspired by iconic American flavors and premium U.S. ingredients. Guests can begin their culinary journey with salmon tartare served with sepia, crackers, and micro herbs, followed by salmon gravlax accompanied by beetroot, flavored mayonnaise, pickled onion, and pear. Main course highlights include classic American Rib Eye and New York steaks, both prepared using premium U.S. beef and served with carefully selected side dishes. The experience concludes with a modern interpretation of a beloved American classic – cheesecake served with fruit and white chocolate crumble.
American Weeks offers a unique opportunity to experience the evolution of American cuisine beyond familiar stereotypes, presenting it through the lens of fine dining, premium ingredients, and expertly curated wine pairings. Available for a limited time only, the initiative invites food and wine enthusiasts to explore the tastes, traditions, and contemporary culinary creativity of the United States.
