REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. — The ACC-RSA Aviation Directorate’s Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Division and Future Vertical Lift (FVL) and Propulsion Division joined forces Tuesday for a lively cookout and team-building event aimed at strengthening cross-division relationships and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.
The gathering, held at Carroll D. Hudson Recreation Area on Redstone Arsenal, provided team members an opportunity to step away from their desks and engage in an afternoon of connection, food, and fun. The event featured a traditional cookout alongside interactive games and structured team-building activities designed to enhance communication and camaraderie.
“This gathering was all about bringing people together and cultivating ACC’s first priority—People,” said Sherry Miller, FVL and Propulsion Division Chief.
UAS Division Chief Cheryl M. Davis echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of creating spaces where colleagues can build relationships beyond their professional roles. “Sherry and I wanted to create a space where we can step away from our desks and simply enjoy each other’s company, laying the foundation for better collaboration and a stronger, more unified workplace,” Davis said.
From friendly competition in cornhole and badminton to line dancing and card games, the event underscored the significance of teamwork not only within individual divisions but across the organization as a whole.
The successful gathering reaffirmed the Aviation Directorate’s commitment to cultivating a positive and inclusive workplace culture—one where relationship-building is just as vital as meeting mission objectives.
