The Roadrunner Lanes Bowling Center at White Sands Missile Range held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the newly renovated facility March 5.

Guests who attended the event got to see the refresh to the facility and got to try some of the new menu items from the Coyote Snack Bar. They also got to enjoy an hour of free bowling.

Nino Bassaro, Director of DFMWR, said this was a small refresh program which was done in two phases. One was a new scoring system and new amenities to include a new ceiling and colorful walls to include a mural at the entrance.

“We had a lot of great improvements, and the team worked really hard to get everything done.”

Bassaro invited members of the community to participate in the Commander’s Challenge Intramural Bowling League which starts April 7.

The Garrison Commander has challenged the WSMR workforce to compete in a fun, intramural bowling league for 4 weeks. The winning team will receive a trophy presented by the Garrison team.

Rules are as follows: six to eight 4-person teams will compete, rotating rosters of team members is allowed, the league will be bowled on Mondays or Wednesday s, anytime between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m., cost if $40 per team, including shoe rental, handicap will be calculated based on 100 percent of 200, position round will be held on April 28.
