
Fort Knox, Ky. - Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Steven Bullard, executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs, named Varsha Robinson an honorary Kentucky Colonel and presented her with a challenge coin from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear during a ceremony at U.S. Army Reserve Aviation Command headquarters here on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024.
Robinson, who serves as an ARAC Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program victim advocate, was given this distinction after being selected as an Association of Defense Communities National Spouse Leadership Award recipient. She will be receiving that honor in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, Oct. 28.
According to her ADC National Spouse Leadership Award nomination, Robinson is described as a dedicated leader and champion for those less fortunate than herself. She has spent years advocating for military families, veterans, and women recovering from incarnation/drug/sexual assault, both in her personal and professional life. Her tenacity and determination foster a strong sense of community in everyone she encounters. Varsha displays outstanding character, competence, and commitment, all of which are hallmarks of a successful leader. Her commitment to her community is unparalleled. She donates toiletries and personal hygiene products to local community shelters that provide services to women and veterans, collects and distributes school supplies to local schools, and participates in the nationwide Read Across America campaign.
