FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — August is Army Antiterrorism Awareness Month and is a time for us to renew our focus on sustained awareness and vigilance to reduce risk to the force, our missions and our infrastructure. To protect our community, we ask the team across the footprint to increase your knowledge on threats and how to appropriately respond.
Our adversaries remain interested in our training missions and other activities conducted on military installations. Be observant and attentive, and if you see something suspicious or concerning, say something. Always call 911 in an emergency. In a non-emergency, take detailed notes of the situation, including date, time, location and description of the people and activities involved; and make a report to the Directorate of Emergency Services by calling 573.596.6141, or use the iWatch reporting system. You should report behaviors, such as visitors taking photos of signs and buildings; strangers asking questions about key training events or security conditions; or anything that makes you uncomfortable. Your vigilance and action can make a difference in protecting our personnel, information, critical assets and facilities against threats.
We are proud to serve with you and ask that you continue to do your part to keep our community safe. For information regarding Army Antiterrorism Awareness Month or antiterrorism training and reporting, call the Fort Leonard Wood Antiterrorism Office at 573.563.5507.
