In September, the 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command visited Tel Aviv, Israel to participate in CADWG: the Combined Air Defense Working Group with the Israeli Air Force. Members from the 32d AAMDC and IAF worked together to conduct reconnaissance on ideal sites for air defense artillery equipment and developed an operations order in tandem for the upcoming joint exercise in Israel: Juniper Cobra.
"CADWG is important because we have the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with our coalition partners," said Major Alex Milshtein, Israeli Air Force, "Face to face interactions are important because we develop a bond. It's even more than a friendship- it's true military partnership"
Meanwhile, 32d AAMDC Commanding General Brig. Gen. Richard Harrison spent time with Israeli Air Defense Commander Brig. Gen. (res.) Doron Gavish, where he toured multiple Israeli Air Defense weapon systems and received information briefings from local unit commanders.
"When we look at the fight, we don't see the difference in our flags: we see the mission," said Brig. Gen. Gavish, IAF "we are honored to have you here with us, working shoulder to shoulder."
The Combined Air Defense Working Group culminated in a cultural day, consisting of a tour of Yad Vashem - the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. There, Brig. Gen. Harrison and Brig. Gen. Gavish participated in a wreath laying ceremony, in remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust.
