PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. - Davis D. Tindoll, Director, U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) ID-Sustainment, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Brasher, ID-Sustainment Command Sergeant Major, toured Picatinny Arsenal August 16-18. During the visit, Tindoll and staff met with garrison employees, received briefings, and reviewed ongoing projects and upgrades to infrastructure.

Picatinny is one of 17 U.S. Army garrisons under Tindoll's purview as the ID-Sustainment director. The northern New Jersey installation was recently named as the best garrison ID-Sustainment and ranked fifth out of 80 U.S. Army garrisons worldwide.

At the end of the site visit, Picatinny Arsenal garrison commander Lt. Col. Alexander D. Burgos and Command Sgt. Maj. David M. Franks, Picatinny Arsenal Command Sergeant Major, invited the ID-Sustainment leadership team to be a part of the Picatinny's commitment to it most valued asset, people. Tindoll and Brasher joined Burgos, Franks, and garrison directors in signing a new Service Culture Pledge to the installation's Customers, Soldiers, Families, Civilians, and Retirees.

"Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this Alex," Tindoll said to Burgos. "This means a lot. This is a special and shows the commitment you have to your team," the ID-Sustainment director stated after placing his signature on the document.

The Service Culture Campaign (SCC) is a sustained readiness plan launched by IMCOM in 2017 to develop a highly effective IMCOM Team capable of supporting installation senior commanders and Army readiness requirements.

The SCC is built upon the premise that excellence in customer service is a byproduct of how employees are treated. Therefore, the SCC aims to establish an environment where employees have engaged leaders, feel valued, are loyal to the organization, and treat each other with dignity and respect.

The SCC is vital to help the Army adapt to a changing environment characterized by reduced resources and instill a culture (shared value) of service excellence in the workforce in order to maintain readiness.

The campaign indoctrinates a culture of service excellence through leader and workforce engagement; on-boarding programs that welcome and integrate newly assigned Soldiers and civilians to IMCOM; employee recognition programs that effectively further Army mission, goals and values; and standardized customer service training implemented garrison-wide.
