Senior Commander's Summer Safety Message - Independence Day

Natick Teammates,

As we celebrate the 247th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, remember and honor the bravery and vision demonstrated by our founding fathers.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,-- That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Declaring independence from Great Britain, gave birth to this United States of America. A country founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness for all its people. However, freedom is never free. Our independence is possible because of the men and women of our Armed Forces and the long lineage of veterans, who have defended and continue to proudly defend our freedom. On this Fourth of July, let us be grateful for our freedom and opportunities it has given us.

Stay safe, recognize potential hazards, mitigate risks, and avoid them if possible. Fireworks are entertaining when properly handled but deadly if not. Take proper precautions around water, never mix alcohol and medication nor use them when they could impair activities like driving and boating. Make sure you enjoy the day; however, take time to reach out to those around you that may struggle with loneliness.

Thank you, TEAM NATICK! You work hard every day ensuring our force is the best equipped and prepared fighting force in the world. Without you we couldn’t ensure our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen and Guardians are ready for anything they may face.
