FORT KNOX, Ky. — Chaplains across Fort Knox are encouraging community members to devote prayer time in one of four chapels during this year’s National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 4.

As the first part of what members of the Spiritual Readiness Working Group are calling Spiritual Readiness Month, they plan to host an all-day prayer and meditation open house in Main Post, Prichard Place, Cavalry and O’Neill chapels for people to practice their faith as they feel led.

The four chapels will be open to the community from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on that day. Officials say chaplains and chapel staff will also be on hand at each chapel for those who may require assistance. Light snacks will also be provided.

This is the first of three major events throughout the month.
