U.S. Army Security Assistance Command's commanding general, Brig. Gen. Brad Nicholson, visited the Office of Defense Cooperation and Defense Attaché Office at the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia in late February 2023. He met with Gen. Tan Sri Dato Seri Zamrose, Chief of the Army, Malaysia and discussed security assistance and mutual cooperation on Army force modernization, humanitarian assistance/disaster relief, and amphibious capacity development for the Malaysian Army. While in Malaysia, Nicholson also met with Ministry of Defence-Policy officials to discuss Malaysian Army modernization efforts and potential security assistance programs related to force modernization. These visits enhanced mutual understanding of regional issues and reinforced the strong army-to-army ties between Malaysia and the United States.
