Fort Sill's Freedom Elementary School had a Veterans Day parade Nov. 9. The parade started at Gruber Rd at 1:30 p.m. and concluded in the parking lot of Freedom Elementary School at 2:30 p.m. The vehicles taking part in the drive-through parade formed a line behind a police escort. The driveway was filled with cars driven by veterans and active duty-service members. Cadets from various JROTC programs marched in step with their respective past command sergeants major.

The music and the presence of young students waving American flags on the sidewalk and parking lot contributed to a celebratory mood.

The children looked ecstatic at the patriotic display and showed appreciation for the veterans.
