This play tells the harrowing true story of the years Anne Frank, her family, and other Jewish friends and acquaintances hid from German authorities in a secret annex in Amsterdam during World War II.
Based on Anne’s actual diary entries, the production reveals the realities of a family living in difficult circumstances in order to survive the Holocaust. The audience will witness Anne’s spirit, intelligence and humor as well in this coming-of-age story in which she explores falling in love, leaving her childhood behind and struggling to survive unimaginable hardships.
The 10-member cast includes Kaydn Hunting in the starring role as Anne, Michael McClain as Mr. Frank, and Teddy Robbins as close friend Peter, the son of another family in hiding.
Amy Berlin directs the “Diary of Anne Frank.” The creative team includes Frank Foster, set design; Matthew Landwehr, lighting; Dennis Mark Souza, costumes; John Redling, sound; and Casey Walsted, stage manager.
For cast and audience protection, the wearing of masks as a COVID-19 mitigation measure is required in the theater.
