FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — People are our military’s greatest strength and most valuable assets, and our military families are an invaluable component of our team. During the month of November, our nation seeks to recognize their resilience and commitment through the observance of Military Family Appreciation Month.

Service member readiness and family member readiness are two equivalent and critical components of mission readiness and mission success. Our military services cannot accomplish our requirements without taking care of our spouses and children. Families are our support systems and strong family units result in more ready and resilient service members.

We want every member of our team to be successful. Military service is a shared sacrifice between our service members and their families, and they are all part of our greater MSCoE Team of Teams. We owe our loved ones the same devotion and support that they have given us.

The Department of Defense is committed to improving the quality of life for our military families. Focus areas remain: housing, spousal employment, childcare and education. We are incredibly proud of and pleased with our Fort Leonard Wood Garrison, Family, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Directorate, Army Community Services, spouse employment lounge, Child Development Centers, and partners outside the gate in the communities and school districts.

During this Military Family Appreciation Month, please join us in taking time to say thank you to those who support, care and love us through their service as spouses, children and loved ones.
