Victim identified in Schofield Barracks homicide

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii — The victim in the ongoing homicide investigation, here, has been identified as 25-year-old Selena Roth, a military spouse and Army veteran.

“On behalf of the Army community in Hawaii, I extend our deepest condolences to Selena’s loved ones,” said Maj. Gen. James Jarrard, Commanding General, 25th Infantry Division & U.S. Army Hawaii. “We are committed to the pursuit of justice, and those responsible will be held accountable.”

“I know many of us are still in shock. Our priority is to continue to support the investigation and to ensure Selena’s family and our Army community receive the needed support and resources during this difficult time.”

Selena was found by Military Police conducting a welfare check requested by a family member. Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) took a suspect into custody Wednesday evening.

More information will be released at the appropriate time as the investigation continues.
