Soldier involved in fatal single car accident

FORT CAMPBELL, Kentucky -- Sgt. 1st Class Raymond Haley died Feb. 20 on Fort Campbell, Ky.

Haley was involved in a single vehicle accident at approximately 8:45 a.m., nobody else was involved in the vehicular accident.

Haley, from Wyoming, Mich., was assigned to 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade "Lifeliners". He joined the Army in 2004 and arrived to Fort Campbell in 2019, having previously served here from 2005 to 2010.

His awards and decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, a Meritorious Unit Citation, an Army Superior Unit Award, four Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, three Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, five Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO Medal, the Air Assault Badge, the Driver and Mechanic Badge, and the Expert-Rifle Qualification Badge.

"The Lifeliner Family is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own," said Col. Stephanie Barton, commander of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade "Lifeliners". Sgt. 1st Class Haley was a valuable member of the Lifeliners team, who has served our nation honorably for nearly 16 years. His presence within our formation will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Soldier, his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

Fort Campbell authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the vehicular accident.
