Spc. Paul Fruehauf, Weed Army Community Hospital, recently graduated from the Strategic Medical Asset Readiness Training (SMART) at Cooper University HealthCare in Camden, N.J. Fruehauf was one of six Army Medicine Soldiers to attend and was hand-selected by his commander to participate in the training.

SMART is part of the Army Medical Skills Sustainment Program (AMSSP) which develops partnerships with civilian trauma centers and hospitals to build medical sustainment capabilities in Army medical personnel. The two-week program provides participants the opportunity for hands-on training alongside civilian counterparts in premier trauma centers and hospitals throughout the United States.
