Col. Terrece B. Harris is the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command. CCDC has the mission to provide innovative research, development and engineering to produce capabilities that provide decisive overmatch to the Army against the complexities of the current and future operating environments in support of the Joint Warfighter and the Nation.

Harris graduated from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida and was commissioned in Military Intelligence in April 1992. Harris is a graduate of the Air Defense Artillery Basic Course, Military Intelligence Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Florida A&M University, a Master's degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, Fort Leavenworth Campus, and Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.

Harris' first assignment was with the 1-62 ADA Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he served as a Vulcan and Avenger/Stinger Platoon Leader and Battery Executive Officer. After his tour in Hawaii, he transitioned over to his basic branch, Military Intelligence, and was re-assigned to Fort Hood, Texas where he served as the Battalion S-1 with the 163rd Military Intelligence Battalion (Tactical Exploitation) and III Corps Targeting Officer. He also commanded Bravo Company, 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion.

After company command, Harris was selected into the Acquisition Corps.

His acquisition assignments include: Systems Automation Acquisition Officer, Operational Test Command; Aide-de-Camp for the Commander, Army Test and Evaluation Command; Countermeasures Equipment Program, Survivability/Lethality Directorate, Army Research Laboratory; Senior Electronic Warfare Vulnerabilities Assessment Officer/Military Lead for the IED; Executive Officer, TRADOC Capabilities Manager -- Integration; Product Manager IED Defeat/Protect Force; Director, Capability Packages System of Systems Engineering and Integration; and Chief of Staff, Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC). He also has been awarded the Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.

He is married to the former Monica Ferrufino, of El Paso, Texas. They have a daughter, Tatiana and two sons, Jeremy and Treyvon.
