Soldiers from Fort Knox paid tribute to President Zachary Taylor at a wreath laying ceremony at the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, Nov. 21. Brig. Gen. Stephen Rutner, deputy commander of the 84th Training Command, placed a wreath in front of Taylor's gravesite in Louisville and rendered a salute to the former president. Taylor, the nation's 12th president, grew up in Louisville before joining the Army in 1808. He was sworn into office in 1849 and served as president for 16 months before his death in 1850.
