CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq -- Delta Detachment, 101st Financial Management Company, 10th Sustainment Brigade Troops Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, out of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) of Fort Campbell, Ky., has led the way providing financial support in the Baghdad area: Forward Operating Bases Victory and Liberty.

The unit's primary mission is assisting service members with any type of pay issues. The Soldiers execute their mission with accuracy and professionalism while handling any finance inputs and documentation.

The disbursing section is managed by four Soldiers, all trained on various systems such as cashiering and handling large amounts of currency.

The customer service section is responsible for conducting all re-deployment briefings for units. These briefs are instrumental for Soldiers returning home and to understand crucial information pertaining to their pay.

The 4th Infantry Division and the 208th FMCO recognized the efforts and hard work demonstrated by the Liberty finance officer personnel, and awarded several Soldiers with Army Achievement Medals.

The customer service section played a key role in the outstanding achievement.

Spc. Charles Richardson, a native of Montgomery, Ala., was recognized for creating a PowerPoint slide presentation, an in-depth step-by-step tutorial on how to correctly fill out the DD 1351-2 travel voucher form.

Other successes of the LFO personnel were training and assisting other finance detachments: the 208th Financial Management Company, 10th SBTB, 10th SBDE to ensure success.

Delta Det., 101st FM Co. has been deployed for eleven out of their fifteen-month tour and achieved a military pay accuracy rating of 99.33 percent or higher each month. This rating exceeds the Defense Finance and Accounting Service standard of 98 percent. To achieve such ratings, Soldiers had to conduct research and input documents into Soldiers' pay, while applying specific rules for each transaction.
