HAMBURG, Germany--Four CH-47 Chinook helicopters and 17 Soldiers from Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade conducted multiple air movements in support of the President of the United States (POTUS), Senior White House staff, and security personnel 07-08 July, during the 12th annual G20 meeting.
Bravo Company conducted a total of three air movement missions alongside Marine Helicopter Squadron One and a German Polizei helicopter. The Chinook's carried 84 members of the White House administration and press agency during the two days of the summit.
Marine Helicopter Squadron One is a United States Marine Corps helicopter squadron that is primarily responsible for the transportation of the POTUS, Vice President of the United States, and Cabinet members.
General Support Aviation Battalions provide lift, ambulatory and VIP transport assets to theater commanders. Bravo Company, the heavy lift company from 1-214th, conducts air assault and sling load missions through eight assigned CH-47s.
