Thirty-two officers and NCOs received their Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program Foundation Course graduation certificate Dec. 9, 2016, from Command Sgt. Maj. Michael A. Crosby, 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson.The graduating Soldiers representing the 4th Inf. Div., Fort Carson separate units and the Colorado Army National Guard completed 80 hours of training on sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention and response.SHARP advisers at the battalion level attend the Foundation Course to assist their command in conducting prevention and training activities and advising their com�mander on SHARP response."Your job matters to the victims of sexual assault," said Crosby.Officers and NCOs are usually among the first responders who a survivor has to assist them during their recovery by advocating for them during the medical, judicial, and criminal journey that survivors might face, Crosby emphasized.Crosby and Lt. Col. John H. Chaffin, Equal Opportunity program manager, presented instructors Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Clay from Fort Hood, Texas and Sgt. 1st Class Tricia Hicks from Fort Bliss, Texas, certificates of appreciation.The next scheduled SHARP Foundation Course is Jan. 23 to Feb. 3, 2017.
