Fort Huachuca, AZ. -Down time is important to the Fort Huachuca community and the CW2 Christopher G. Nason Military Intelligence Library provides just that, and more.
An abundance of services are offered, not limited to work-related education. With 500 to 700 Soldiers visiting daily, the MI Library is getting constant activity and support, as it should, by offering free WiFi, fresh snacks, cozy seating and more. Over 30,000 books, videos and documents available, equipping Soldiers with a variety of resources referencing military intelligence, military science, country area studies, the Middle East, and terrorism and military history.
According to the MI Library Facebook webpage, "Food and drinks are allowed in the library and you are welcome to use your cell phone or personal laptop computer for video chat. Soldiers on weapons immersion are welcome at the library. It is a great place to work on class assignments, do research, or just relax …"
A collection of documentaries and feature films are on site, as well as archived journals, magazines and newspapers. The MI Library has a large collection of Jane's books, a British publishing company that specializes in military topics, including Terrorism and World Insurgency, Country Briefs, Radar and Electronic Warfare, Military Communications and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
The online library catalog, supported by SirsiDynix Symphony, is an at-your-fingertips tool used to search for specific books, videos and documents, as well as almost 10,000 downloadable eBooks.

While sipping free hot coffee or tea, or enjoying a bag of freshly popped popcorn, Soldiers can surf the web in the CyberCafe or on their personal handheld device, while lounging in one of the many comfortable seating locations provided. A designated reading area, furnished with a working fireplace and a lounging chair is positioned directly inside the front door for a quiet place to enjoy a book. Vending machines can be found in the back of the MI Library and the daily news is played on the televisions located throughout the library.
Along with the 65 terminals in the computer lab, a Foreign Language Center, Virtual Footlocker, SMART Board, book rental, book order and movie rental is offered. The U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence Commanding General's Reading List can be found on the website and at the library, along with many other reading lists.
The MI Library is located on Hatfield Road, Building 62723 and is open to the Fort Huachuca community. Business hours are 7 a.m. -- 8 p.m., Monday ¬through Thursday, 7 a.m. -- 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. -- 6 p.m. on weekends.
