MEDDACAca,!a,,cs Theodis Hale goes for a basket in a game against the CONUS Replacement Center Tuesday at Smith Fitness Center. MEDDAC won 55-44.

After hitting five 3-pointers in the second half, the Bulldogs held on to beat the Stallions 55-44 Tuesday at Smith Fitness Center.

Bulldogs forward Terrence Crimiel of MEDDAC said the 3-point shots were a major factor in the victory.
"We scored a lot of 3-pointers and played strong defense in the second half, and that's what helped us get the win," he said.

Both teams missed early scoring opportunities in the first three minutes of the game until the Bulldogs' Christopher Thomas broke the scoreless tie. The Mustangs of the CONUS Replacement Center closed the gap to 8-5 with 10 minutes remaining, but the Bulldogs' defense held the Mustangs to 12 points and led 22-17 at the half.

The Bulldogs increased their lead to 15 points in the final minutes of the game and held on to win 55-44.

The Stallions' Demetrius Minor scored a game-high 23 points, while the Bulldogs' Raymond Wilhelm scored a team-high 18 points.

Bulldogs coach James Johnson said better shooting in the second half contributed to the team being able to win the game.

"We were sluggish in the first half," Johnson said. "We got to the bucket, but we couldn't get anything - we missed eight or nine shots. We turned it around in the second half and kept the intensity up and kept pushing."
