United States Army Garrison Italy firefighters Stefano Costa (kneeling), Federico Scapin and Marco Pranovi used the Jaws of Life on the morning of Sept. 13 to release a dog stuck in the turnstile on Caserma Ederle. The dog hesitated when entering and the arms continued to turn. As the gate is one way only, the dog ended up trapped and could not go forward or back. Once firefighters arrived on scene, they quickly released the entrapped canine in four minutes. It took nearly 6,000 pounds of pressure to move the bars and then realign them after the dog was released.
