Friendly Force Tracking (FFT) provides commanders with situational awareness and command and control capabilities for forces employed on the battlefield and is displayed on the common operational picture. These capabilities also support Army mission command objectives through the exchange of situational awareness information between disparate systems.
The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command executes the FFT-directed mission on behalf of U.S. Strategic Command. FFT data services, data integration and dissemination needs are provided directly to the geographic combatant commands, the services, allies and interagency partners.
The USASMDC/ARSTRAT Future Warfare Center FFT testbed develops integrated solutions to interoperability shortfalls that exist in sharing FFT data between independent command and control systems. These capabilities support the ability to exchange situational awareness information between disparate systems while conducting full spectrum operations and Joint Requirements Oversight Council-approved requirements, including the ability to combine, integrate and disseminate FFT data to support timely decision making.
USASMDC/ARSTRAT is supporting required joint and Army capabilities and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed responsibilities to satisfy the FFT data needs of GCCs, the services, allies and interagency partners to improve situational awareness, command and control and fratricide reduction.
