DVIDS stands for Defense Visual Information Distribution Service, a 24/7 service that connects the U.S. military with the media. DVIDS provides a serachable archive of real-time streams, video, still images, print products and interviews with military personnel. Content on DVIDS is created and submitted by US Military personnel, U.S. Government agencies and contractors.

 

Featured Command - Army North

Army North is a 3-star Army Service Component Command (ASCC) that assumes the role of the Joint Forces Land Component Command (JFLCC), responsible for leading all the Army's Title 10 forces for ground response on behalf of the Combatant Command (COCOM), U.S. Northern Command. ARNORTH is a Direct Reporting Unit (DRU) to NORTHCOM. ARNORTH's mission is to protect the Department of Defense's (DOD) ability to train, equip and man forces within the homeland. Our missions include homeland defense, defense support of civil authorities and theater security cooperation. Acting as the JFLCC during a response effort, ARNORTH, on order, provides DoD support to federal agencies for disaster responses and operations in the NORTHCOM area of responsibility in order to save lives, mitigate property damage and maintain public confidence in the U.S. government.
