People seeking to maintain their spiritual fitness can do so through the Fort Sill Chapel's REconnect program.
Though classes began Sept. 12, late arrivals are welcome. Calvin Eastham, director of religious education, said the only class affected by late registration is "Financial Peace University" by Dave Ramsey. He added interested people should call him at 442-2637 to see if class seats are still available.
Sponsored by the Religious Support Office, the Wednesday night program offers a light meal with family and friends before participants take the kids to a class and sit in on an hour long study.
Free to all military ID card holders, REconnect gives the community of faiths at Fort Sill the chance to sit together in the Frontier Chapel activities room for a quick bite from 5:30-6 p.m. before breaking out into classes designed to interest all ages and levels of spiritual interest.
Classes meet 6:15-7:15 p.m. at Frontier Chapel and the Graham Resiliency Training Campus. Some classes are direct Bible studies, while others have a family-life or personal growth focus. The fall series ends Dec. 12 and will restart in mid-January. Contact the religious education director to request a class.
The classes required for Catholic sacramental preparation are also conducted on Wednesday nights. Catholic studies also include "Exodus: God to the Rescue" conducted by the Military Council of Catholic Women.
Protestant Wednesday evening programs include classes for elementary kids, Protestant Youth of the Chapel, and "The Meaning of Ephesians," a course led by Protestant Women of the Chapel.
Personal growth and family enrichment classes include Ramsey's "Financial Peace University," "Reclaiming Six Endangered Qualities" by Bill Hybels, "Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage" by Mark Gungor, and "The Five Love Languages" by Dr. Gary Chapman.
