CAMP SABALU-HARRISON, Afghanistan -- Canadian Brig. Gen. John Madower, deputy to the deputy chief of staff of communications, International Security Assistance Force, and German Brig. Gen. Gunter Katz, ISAF spokesman, toured the Detention Facility in Parwan August 26, 2012, to gain a better understanding of the strategic-level mission performed at the DFIP. Madower is responsible for all ISAF communication strategy in Afghanistan, to include the coordination and planning of all media engagements. The tour was guided by Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. Task Force Protector personnel oversee the secure and humane care, custody and control of the detainees within the facility.
