The Airborne and Special Operations Museum celebrated Airborne Day on Aug. 18. The event featured parachute jumps by the Golden Knights, the Black Daggers, the All-American Freefall Team, static displays by the XVIII Airborne Corps and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. Also featured were All American war re-enactors and a jperformance by the 82nd Airborne Division All-American Chorus. Aug. 16, 1940 marked the first official Army parachute jump and in 2002, President George W. Bush declared Aug. 16, as National Airborne Day.
