CAMP SABALU-HARRISON, Afghanistan--Members of the Afghan National Army Detention Operations Command attended an Iftar dinner here, hosted by Task Force Protector, August 6, 2012. The Iftar was a show of support by Task Force Protector for their Afghan counterpart as they observe Ramazan. Iftar is the evening meal when Muslims break their fast during the Islamic month of Ramazan. In attendance was ANA Maj. Gen. Ghulam Farouq, detention operations commander, and U.S. Army Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector. Each member of the Task Force Protector staff partners with the ANA Military Police Brigade in Parwan for the smooth and safe transition of the Detention Facility in Parwan. "Events like this dinner close the gaps and create strong friendships," said Farouq.
