CAMP SABALU-HARRISON, Afghanistan -- The International Security Assistance Force Operations Officer toured the Detention Facility in Parwan, April 21, 2012. Brig. Gen. Edmund Walker, Chief of Operations, ISAF, visited the facility for a comprehensive understanding of detention operations. Walker is responsible for facilitating improvements at all detention facilities throughout Afghanistan. The tour started at the detainee services branch, followed by a walk-through of a detainee housing unit and state-of-the-art medical facility. The tour ended at the Afghan National Detention Facility in Parwan. ANDF Parwan is a newly opened facility in the Afghan-run portion of the DFIP. The tour was guided by the DFIP Commander, Col. Robert M. Taradash, commander, Task Force Protector and Brig. Gen. Dash Jamieson, deputy commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435. CJIATF 435 oversees all detention operations in Afghanistan.
