LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (March 19, 2012) -- Army World Class Athlete Program member Spc. Megan Henry, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 854th Engineer Battalion, 411th Engineer Brigade, won the 2012 U.S. National Skeleton Championship in the women's category at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, March 4.

The 24-year-old intelligence analyst captured the gold medal by posting the fastest start and finish times in all four heats.

"This was a huge confidence booster," said Henry. "I want to hold on to this feeling for as long as I can, and use it as fire going into next season."

Henry is a member of the World Class Athlete Program, which is an elite training program for exceptional Soldier athletes. Her goal is to compete with the U.S. Skeleton team during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The second year slider also won the Push Champions last year, and she will conclude the 2011-2012 season by competing in the America's Cup finale at Lake Placid from March 29 through April 1.
