FORT STEWART, Ga. - One month of the New Year has passed, with eleven months left to achieve those goals which we were set on pursuing in 2012. Time is passing quickly, isn't it?

How are you doing with your fitness resolutions? Have you seen any progress?

Have you been able to keep your goals out "in front" of you, so that you can see visible progress? Are you able to visualize the "finish line" in terms of your fitness goals?

At this point, we know there is still time left, and if we have put forth any effort at all into achieving what we set out to do, we have surely seen at least some progress.

May I suggest you revisit your list of resolutions and review your commitment and your focus on those goals? Perhaps, it may be time to refine those goals, and decide today that your dedication to your goals needs to be rejuvenated.

Can you imagine what could happen, if you decided to pursue your goals with a passion?

What exactly does 'passion' look like?

Most of us may associate the word 'passion' with words like "intense," or "strong desire."

However, the word passion is also linked to suffering, a meaning that helps us make the connection of passion to something that can be overwhelming, or requiring the ability to continue to hold on through the 'storms,' or the obstacles that may prevent us from achieving our goals.

Are you passionate, intense, and focused on your fitness goals?

Think about someone whom you know (maybe it is you) who is passionate about something. What does a passionate person look like?

Chances are you will realize that passion is not something you are born with, but rather being passionate about something is a decision. A person who has a passion for something in their life has that look of fierce yet content determination. Knowing that they will reach their goals regardless of any setbacks or discouragement.

I had the opportunity to coach a woman named Julia, in Florida last weekend who attended the Newton Natural Running Form Clinic, where I was training for my Run Coach Certification. She came looking for guidance on how to adjust her running form so that she can continue to train and compete in a triathlon in May.

What set Julia apart was her passion for going the distance, in an effort to reach her goals. She told me that a year ago, she was barely able to walk around the block without pain in multiple joints--back, knees, and hips. She was overweight and out of shape. However, over the past several months, her commitment to her goals, took her to great, new heights. It was her passion that let her drive 45 minutes just to attend the seminar!

Julia lost 65 pounds, and completed her very first triathlon in the past twelve months. She did it by setting small, realistic goals, and checking them off her list, one small goal at a time.

Inspired by the success of achievement, she is now able to continue setting and achieving even bigger goals. Now Julia is using the momentum from her success to dream a new dream … to compete in an Ironman competition someday. Wow!

Julia has a passion, that intense desire to finish what she has started. And although she faces daily obstacles, she turns those obstacles into opportunities, by focusing on the finish line and visualizing her dreams on daily basis. Julia is truly an inspiration to those who are blessed to cross her path.

Do you have a passion to reach your fitness goals?

Can you decide today to take your desire to achieve your goals to a new level of 'passion' in your life?

If so, then the eleven months remaining in 2012 will be more than just another year.

Let passion transform your life and your health!

See the possibilities!

Press forward!

Live powerfully and passionately!
