CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait -- Apple Valley, Ca. native, Spc. Matthew McPherson, a military intelligence (all source) analyst, assigned to the A Co., 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, works at a computer terminal, here, Jan 9. McPherson was selected among five peers who competed in the Ironhorse Brigade for the Command Sgt. Maj.(Ret.) Doug Russel Award, an award given to those with outstanding achievements within the Military Intelligence community. He will now compete against fellow Soldiers at the Department of the Army level.
