FORT BRAGG, N.C. - The 82nd Military Police Company held a reunion coinciding with the end of All American Week on Friday, May 20 at the Fort Bragg Club. Veterans from as far back as the '40s and '50s shared stories with their younger counterparts.

"Meeting these vets is awesome," said Sgt. Maj. John P. Brawdy, the 82nd Provost Marshal Sgt. Maj. "It's why we have these reunions."

Attendees came from all over the United States for All American Week. The culmination of their trip was seeing fellow 82nd MP veterans. Some of these veterans haven't seen each other in over sixty years.

"Back then we (82nd MP Co.) had outstanding esprit de corps," said Richard Burson, an MP from 1950- 53. "It's great to see that hasn't changed much after all these years."

Although the 82nd MP Co. hasn't existed since the modularization of the Division in 2006, the esprit de corps and respect for where the 82nd MPs came from is still strong.

Harry O. Woolley, Jr, who was an MP 1950- 52 said, "I can't express how good it feels, the reception we have had this week. Between All American Week and this reunion, it really brings me back."

"Its kinda cool to see how we got to where we are," said Spc. Daniel Jones, an MP in Co. A, HHBn, 82nd Airborne Division. "These guys paved the way for us."

"It's important for these young guys to meet those that came before us," said Brawdy. "They need to talk to these vets and they will realize that they have the same stories. There is so much history in this room; it's their legacy to us."
