Influenza Vaccination Information for Rock Island Arsenal

Rock Island Arsenal, Ill. - This year's flu vaccine will be trivalent (with three different vaccine viruses) and will include the H1N1 vaccine. There are several options for RIA Service Members, Family members, DoD employees, and retirees to receive their vaccine this year:

<a href="http://www.ria.army.mil/sites/services/ArmyHealthClinic/USAHC%20RIA%20Main%20Page.htm" target="_blank">US Army Health Clinic Rock Island Arsenal</a> has vaccines available for Soldiers. Call (309) 782-0805 for information on distribution dates and times. Vaccine for Family members will be available as vaccine arrives from Fort Knox. An announcement will be made when the vaccine arrives.

DoD family members may receive their flu vaccinations, free with a military ID/TRICARE card, on Friday, Nov. 5, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Genesis Rock Island Arsenal Family Practice. This clinic is open to Families of DoD service members only on a walk-in basis. Both the flu mist and flu shots will be available. The Genesis Rock Island Arsenal Family Practice is located at 1634 Whittemore Street, Bldg. 332, Suite 101, Rock Island Arsenal. For more information, please call (309) 786-2073.

In addition, the TRICARE Management Activity issued an interim final rule authorizing TRICARE retail network pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, & Wal-Mart pharmacies) to administer season influenza [sic vaccine] at no cost to TRICARE beneficiaries. Service Members who receive influenza vaccinations from non-military sources will provide immunization documentation to the unit's MEDPROS point of contact no later than the next duty day following vaccination. MWR is sponsoring flu shots at the following locations and times, no appointment necessary, cost is $25 per person, cash or check only, must be 18 years old or older:

Bldg. 60 Cafeteria, Oct. 19, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Bldg. 212 Cafeteria, Oct. 20, 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Bldg. 350 Cafeteria, Oct. 21, 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Bldg. 67, Fitness Center, Oct. 26, 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
