
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Four Soldiers were selected for the United States' All-Armed Forces team that will vie for the Conseil International du Sport Militaire's World Military Women's Soccer Championship, scheduled for June 9-20 in Cherbourg, France.
Capt. Emily Nay of Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.; Capt. Michelle Veach of Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Capt. Randee Farrell of the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.; and Capt. Christina Acojedo of Fort Belvoir, Va., will represent the Army. They were selected from a field of players who recently attended a trial camp at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
Ten U.S. players hail from the Air Force, two from the Navy, and two from the Marine Corps.
Team USA will compete in Pool C against reigning tournament runner-up South Korea and The Netherlands. Belgium, Canada and France are in Pool A. Defending champion Brazil, Germany and Guinea will begin play in Pool B.
