BISMARCK, N.D. - The North Dakota National Guard rolled out a new Web site today with a fresh design and many additional features. The site, www.ndguard.ngb.army.mil, replaces the ndguard.com site previously used.
The new site showcases information on North Dakota's Army and Air National Guard, including videos, a photo gallery, news releases and upcoming events. A wealth of informative links covers anything someone may want to know about the North Dakota National Guard, whether it's benefits, recruitment, history, retirement, family support or full-time employment opportunities. The North Dakota Guardian - a magazine produced for Soldiers, Airmen, retirees and their families - also is showcased on the site in PDF format. The Guard's official social media sites tie in to the home page to allow for greater information sharing, and the addition of RSS feeds allows users to subscribe to updates on the site. Additionally, an "Add This" feature gives viewers the option to share the information through more than 200 different online tools.
"This site turned out fantastic," said Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota National Guard adjutant general. "Our Visual Information Department dedicated countless hours to making this an informative, easy-to-use site for Guardsmen, families, employers and our communities. We value timely, thorough information sharing in the North Dakota National Guard, and this new site gives us one more valuable tool for doing that."
The new site format allows the North Dakota National Guard to take management and control of its Web site in-house, providing for faster, less costly updates than with the previous site. It also shifts the Guard's Web presence from a .com to a .mil, allowing the site to be housed on a secure, reversed proxy server through Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
