Leasing manager focuses on customer service

FORT BENNING, Ga. - Sylvia Haynes is bringing the "cutting edge" to Fort Benning housing.

Formerly an associate property manager at Whisperwood Apartments in Columbus, Haynes joined Pinnacle in December as the new leasing manager.

"I was very excited to be able to come out to Pinnacle and bring just a little bit of the cutting edge and the civilian side to Pinnacle," said Haynes, who has nearly a decade of experience in the industry.

Her goal is to provide the best possible house-hunting experience for Soldiers and their families, with great customer service and clear information every step of the way, she said.

"I grew up military - my dad retired as a sergeant major," said Haynes, who lived on six different installations in the days before privatized housing.

"Sometimes you would feel like you were just a number," she said. "What I'm bringing here is they're not a number. When you're moving, it's already hard enough to pick up and move your family. We're making the transition so much easier. We're building that rapport, and we're gaining relationships."

Haynes is currently working with her team of five leasing agents to help them prepare for any situation or client need. She wants her agents to really get to know the families they are placing, she said, and she wants happy customers. That's why she enjoys her job, she said.

"It's the satisfaction of knowing I have placed someone in a home. The home is so important," she said. "To know that I have played a part in finding a home they're going to reside in for the next two to three years and made them happy, that makes me happy."

To get in touch with Haynes or to find out more about on-post housing, call 706-689-393, ext. 600. Residents and future residents are also invited to visit the welcome center at 601 Lumpkin Road between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
