Santa got a beacon on where to park his sleigh Christmas Day when he visits Fort Gillem, thanks to the shining light of the post's Christmas tree.

The tree was lit in a Dec. 3 ceremony outside the Fort Gillem Getaway club. Although the ceremony opened the holiday season, good tidings were in no short supply.

Christmas carols, such as "Deck the Halls," "Silent Night" and "Silver Bells" were sung by the Adamson Middle School Choir of Clayton County.

The Army Ground Forces Band provided accompanying music.
