REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala.--Trying to choose between the lines "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" or "The Weather Outside is Frightful" is a difficult choice lately. The weather has indeed been frightful, with temperatures falling below freezing, snow, and severe rain downpours, however, inside the holiday spirit is kicking into high gear at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command headquarters.

The command will celebrate its holiday party Dec. 16, and preparations for the party's decoration competition are heating up. Employee voting on the decorations is slated for Dec. 8-11, followed by final judging and the awards presented during the holiday party.

The holiday party begins at 9 a.m. with a visit from Santa Claus and children's activities. At 11 a.m., each office will place food in a designated area, and at 11:30 a.m. employees will begin to travel from floor to floor to meet, greet and enjoy food and fellowship. Entertainment begins at 1:30 p.m. and includes the Toys for Tots program ceremony, the decoration awards and closing remarks.
